Mon, April 25, 8:00 to 9:30am PDT (8:00 to 9:30am PDT), San Diego Convention Center, Floor: Upper Level, Sails Pavillion

Abstract

Journal editors play an important role in defining and shaping academic discourse in a field. This study used the Delphi method to build a profile of the trends and priorities in educational technology from the perspective of journal editors. The expert panel was built across 117 research journals internationally and 25 editors-in-chief finished all three rounds of survey. The participants achieved consensus on most of the trends & priorities items. Five themes emerged and the trends and priorities within each theme will be discussed in depth during the presentation: computer-focused, teaching and learning, online and digital education, societal, and research and theory.
