Self-assessment (SA) and peer assessment (PA), has been increasingly advocated in higher education settings. If properly implemented, they can bring a range of benefits including timely feedback to students, enhanced learning outcomes, and so on. However, many factors such as student resistance and limitation in ability can prevent SA and PA from success.
A proposed solution to enhance the potential benefits of SA and PA is to combine the two (Wanner & Palmer, 2018). While combining SA and PA has been reported to be superior to adopting either one, the relationship between them when used in combination remains largely unknown. This study investigated the combined use of SA and PA with the intention to shed light on this topic.
