This paper explores contemporary right-wing moral panics over the teaching of Critical Race Theory and their corresponding call to teach American exceptionalism. It first locates this movement within a broader history of right-wing educational activism. Then, drawing on ethnographic fieldwork with right-wing homeschooling families, it links these to contemporary right wing educational ideology and pedagogy.
