Researchers have responded to calls for articles showcasing how integration has been used in mixed methods investigations., However, not all designs have been thus illuminated, including integration in a mixed methods case study with an initial quantitative phase aimed at supporting site selection. The purpose of this presentation is to fill this knowledge gap using a methodological reflection with an application to an example study. By integrating at the theoretical level, this study showcases how substantive theory can guide all components of the studying including the final integrated conclusions, which are then used to reframe and update the initial theory. This presentation will be beneficial for researchers seeking guidance in the use of this type of mixed methods research.
