Comparing Student Experiences in STEM: In-Person Versus Online/Remote Experiences in a STEM Summer Bridge Program

Abstract

The COVID-19 pandemic provides a unique opportunity to examine the ability of an established and successful in-person STEM Scholars Program (SSP) to successfully adapt to an online environment. Findings from surveys used to evaluate student experiences in the SSP across cohorts enrolled in a summer bridge program prior to the pandemic and currently enrolled in a summer bridge during the pandemic suggest that the SSP summer bridge programming was successful despite moving online.
