Using constructivist and critical theory, the author of this paper used source theory to examine the literature in order to create a unified theory of equitable, creative STEAM education. The literature was coded and three themes emerged for creative STEAM education including ontological, epistemological, and axiological considerations, while equity in STEAM was situation in the themes of access, representation, and creating an inclusive culture. The author gives suggestions for democratizing STEAM education and creating more equitable, inclusive, and diverse STEAM programs.
