For many Canadian immigrant seniors, language barriers and advanced age complicate the challenge of adjusting to a new culture, new surroundings, and new customs. These issues became more complex within the context of Covid-19. The proposed presentation intends to examine what life has been like for a group of immigrant seniors living independently in Vancouver during Covid, and to act as an amplifier for these marginalized voices.
We consider the generative process sparked through Action Research (AR), our aim being to help seniors gain agency in their lives and simultaneously produce rich dialogue within local and national Communities, around the issues faced by the immigrant senior diaspora during the Pandemic.
