Collaboration Between Teachers and Management Teams: Analysis of Change and Inclusive Education During the COVID-19 Pandemic

Abstract

Educational collaboration is a relevant aspect of professional development among school staff. However, the COVID-19 pandemic has intensified socio-educational inequalities, reconfigured collaboration patterns, and difficulted the development of new skills among teachers and school administrators, jeopardizing these practices. Through a mixed methods case study of a Chilean school, this study shows an increase in collaboration during the sociosanitary emergency, highlighting the role of special education teachers., However, collaboration and professional development is also affected by contextual dimensions such as district overloading school actors and lack of digital literacy skills, among others. This entails the potential for a better articulation inside schools and within the educational system, that, particularly in a post-pandemic scenario and other potential conjunctural emergencies for educational settings.
