Championing Justice: Centering Equity to Dismantle the School-to-Prison Pipeline

Abstract

The school to prison pipeline (STPP) is a conceptual framework mirroring the injustice that hemorrhages at the intersection of the educational and criminal justice systems. This phenomenological study examined the lived experiences of six African American men and their successful evasion of the school to prison pipeline. Constructionism and critical inquiry framed this phenomenological study. The results provide a blueprint detailing the structures of support that champion justice, success, and equity for boys and young men of color.
