The present study uses a multilevel approach to test whether (a) the professional support structures that educators use to connect research and practice vary by school and district-level demographics, and (b) whether educators’ use of these structures is influenced by the processes and incentives that they report as present in their schools and districts. These analyses find that: 1) Education practitioners use structures the most when there are district, school, and teacher level processes and incentives to connect research and practice; 2) Rural schools are less likely to use structures to connect research and practice compared to urban schools; and 3) Elementary and middle schools are more likely to use structures to connect research and practice compared to high schools.
