Abstract

This qualitative study examines the post-transfer experiences of undocumented and DACAmented Latinx/a/o community college students, focusing on the support and resources they encountered at their institution. Students identify the importance of financial, academic, social, and mental health support at their receiving institutions. However, while some students had access to this support, other students did not. This suggests that 4-year institutions are not equitably applying a transfer receptive culture to support these students. Overall, this study emphasizes the need for institutions to be fully committed to equitably serving their transfer student population, especially considering the different intersectional identities these students bring with them that require intentional practices and resources to support them.
