Through this study, the researcher explored how six queer im/migrant graduate students related to their institution of higher education. Using a mixture of qualitative methods, the researcher found that queer im/migrant graduate students’ bodies, identities, and labors were being exploited by the university, often despite claims of inclusion, equity, and diversity within these spaces. In order to combat the university’s oppressive logics, participants shared original artwork and reflected on creative tactics of resistance and community, thereby fostering new opportunities for subversion and liberation within the academy. Implications for higher education are described as a response to the findings.
