Technologies for Situated, Grounded, Embodied Learning: The Unique Role of Extended Reality Experiences (Poster 1)

Abstract

Emerging forms of extended reality (XR) technology have allowed for new forms of situated, grounded, and embodied learning. This structured poster session presents learning sciences research centered on the design and implementation of such forms of learning. Research in this poster session includes investigations into the impact of cognitive load in embodied learning environments, collaborative learning with augmented reality, facilitated model-based learning in virtual reality, pedagogical designs to support learning in XR, shared holographic augmented reality and virtual reality, and mobile augmented reality design. Methodologically diverse, this session represents a significant opportunity to broaden awareness and understanding of contemporary research on situated, grounded, and embodied learning with XR technologies.
