Students in two sections of a Psychology research methods class at Taibah University in
Saudi Arabia, taught by the same professor, were administered an identical items on the midterm
exam. One section received a paper-pencil format of the exam and the other section took the exam via computer. Results from Rasch analyses indicated that three items may need to be revisited and that nine items demonstrated differential item functioning between the two formats of the exam. The significance and implications of the study are discussed.
