Cultivating Equity Among European Union and International Students in the Transnational Program of Erasmus

Abstract

Increasing higher education institutions in European countries are providing transnational teaching programmes (Goddard, 2017). This paper examines the four European universities in contributing in the case of Eramus master programme of Food Innovation and Product Design (FIPDes) in reflection on (1) how European universities are providing transnational innovative programme; (2) how different or similar are non-European Union (non-EU) students’ and European Union (EU) students’ colleges in accessing the learning opportunities? It is argued that although equal transnational learning opportunities were given to both non-EU and EU students, the awareness of equity and multicultural interaction vary between EU and non-EU students, leading to the different focus on evaluation on learning outcomes and engagement in the transnational learning programme.
