This study will examine whether the effect of social economic status (SES) on academic achievement is different for math, reading and science. PISA data from six countries collected from 2012 to 2018 will be analyzed by using a two-level HLM model to estimate the SES effect at both the student and school levels. Findings from this study may help shed more light on the nature and magnitude of the SES effect on academic achievement.
