The main objective of this article is to make a comparative study about the teacher professional induction actions at the beginning of the career, comparing a specific experience that we analyzed in Brazil, the Pedro II College Resident Teaching Program, with others existing in the world, identifying their potentials and limitations. From the bibliographic review on professional teacher induction, we elaborated an analysis table with the main models and strategies described on the subject, comparing with the other international programs we selected, using academic articles on each international program, as well as, in the Brazilian case, some course documents and the conclusions about the interviews and questionnaires that we applied with individuals who were part of the program.
