Grant writing begins with an idea and hopefully ends with being awarded funding. However, grant writing is a process, often long and arduous, that involves many steps and much due diligence to successfully complete and submit a strong proposal. Yet, little time is spent developing grant writing skills in doctoral studies leaving many academics unprepared to develop competitive grant proposals. The purpose of this session is to enhance participants grant writing understanding, knowledge and skill. Additionally, we will provide an overview and discussion of the various types of grants and sources for funding.
