Future Directions for Equity-Driven International Student Research in Post/Crisis Times

Sat, April 23, 8:00 to 9:30am PDT (8:00 to 9:30am PDT), Marriott Marquis San Diego Marina, Floor: South Building, Level 3, Miramar

Session Type: Symposium

Abstract

The objectives of this symposium are to identify, question, and problematize how international higher education can move beyond/within crises to (re)imagine future directions and possibilities for research on and related to international student mobility. This symposium will contribute to the scholarly discourse of how to advance research related to international students in post/crisis times, with an emphasis on equity-driven approaches. In this symposium, we collectively address the following questions: (1) how have ongoing and acute crises affected international student mobility?; (2) what have we learned from crises and their effects on international student populations, specifically related to equity?; and (3) what are ways in which higher education can move towards equitable approaches in international student research?
