The Western epistemological hegemony has created an “apartheid of knowledge'” (Delgado Bernal, 2002). Boaventura de Sousa Santos (2009) calls this process as epistemicide. This panel is a call to undiscipline the way of creating knowledge and to show what the process of epistemic disobedience looks like (Mignolo, 2010) through concrete examples that can be applied in three steps: 1) Awareness of the need to make a decolonial turn (Maldonado-Torres, 2011) to create other coordinates of thought and thus admit that knowledge is not rational, but sentipensante (feeling-thinking); 2) Incorporate African-American, Latinx and Indigenous, LGBTQUIA communities, stories and bodies as epistemic defiant presence, 3) Build those rebel epistemologies from concrete assignments with students.
