Abstract

Education, like all disciplines, has been a European invention made from the coordinates of Western Cartesian thought which has not taken into account latinx-peoples. This panel not only intends to argue that it is necessary to include latinx-american voices, but this panel intends to inform how latinx-american scholars and teachers are working together to make the decolonial turn in education a reality now. The decolonial turn (Maldonado-Torres, 2011) is a shift, as its name indicates, to see other coordinates of thought from which education is created, in other words, this panel not only describes new routes in the field of education, but another map of thought on which other routes are now being created.
