Mon, April 25, 8:00 to 9:30am PDT (8:00 to 9:30am PDT), Marriott Marquis San Diego Marina, Floor: North Building, Lobby Level, Marriott Grand Ballroom 10

Session Type: Symposium

Abstract

In 2021, the Institute of Education Sciences (IES) carried out school surveys utilizing the National Assessment of Educational Progress (NAEP) data collection infrastructure to understand how schools across the nation responded to the changing conditions of educating their students during the COVID-19 pandemic. Results from the survey will also be used in providing context to the upcoming 2022 NAEP results for U.S. grades 4/8 populations. The surveys were conducted monthly between February to June 2021, to nationally representative samples of schools at grades 4 and 8. The symposium will discuss the major findings of the 2021 NAEP monthly school surveys, explain the recruitment and data collection process, quality control and analysis, as well as further research of the survey.
