Highlighting the Future of Rural Education: Research Agendas for Rural Pre-K–12 and Postsecondary Education

Abstract

In this interactive and engaging workshop, participants will learn about two complementary education research agendas: the National Rural Postsecondary Education Research Agenda, funded by Ascendium Education Group, and the revised National Rural Education Association Research Agenda, forthcoming from the National Rural Education Association. Participants will hear from members of the Ascendium Working Group and the NREA Research Committee, who will provide an overview of why the research agendas were developed, highlight the need and opportunities for rural education research, describe the processes for developing field-informed agendas, and the implications for the future of rural education scholarship.
