Abstract

The Corona Crisis and lockdowns looked like an ‘end of the world’ scenario, overshadowing the global protest movements such as Greta Thunbergs´ School Strike for the Climate and Extinction Rebellion. The multiple crisis and possible collapse of our civilization (Besley & Peters 2019:1) show in academic research and the clear facts of an anthropocenic climate heating and a massive inequality at a global level. As civilizational collapse is possible, we ask, whether – and how - the present global modern civilization will be able to learn from the past civilization collapses. As education has to prepare generations to the future challenges, we reflect on educational systems and organizational strategies towards educating for the Future of Humanity.
