Research on Evaluation SIG Session 2

Mon, April 25, 8:00 to 9:30am PDT (8:00 to 9:30am PDT), Marriott Marquis San Diego Marina, Floor: South Building, Level 3, Balboa

Session Type: Paper Session

Abstract

Evaluations to measure program effectiveness can influence innovative decision-making by not only generating credible evidence, but knowledge brokering for utilization by pertinent stakeholders. Evaluation policies encompass most aspects of evaluation practice and theory, and can aid or constrain the crucial work of federal agencies, foundations and nonprofits. Research-practice partnerships have become increasingly popular for promoting evidence use. These three studies examine how evaluation policies and partnerships can foster use of evidence based polices among various stakeholders in different contexts.
