Division G Fireside Chat. The Possibilities Ahead: Addressing the Impact of COVID-19 on Educational Equity

Abstract

The 2022 Division G Fireside Chat will allow its audiences to explore collaborative strategies and community actions that aim to address unequal access to educational opportunities and resources, which has persisted well in advance of and has been exacerbated by the COVID-19 pandemic. This panel and breakout session will create a space for participants to recognize the vital role researchers, practitioners, and educators play in creating more equitable and inclusive learning opportunities for students and families most affected by the pandemic—particularly those from historically, racially, economically, or linguistically marginalized communities. Through conversations with our invited speakers, participants will be encouraged to envision how educational stakeholders can emerge from this global crisis stronger and more resilient.
