Abstract
The way in which leadership is arranged appears the key factor influencing educational transitions, change, and growth in any learning organization. In this symposium various forms of leadership present in educational organizations are explored, described, and studied based on data from educational organizations in the Netherlands. Effective leadership within an educational context will support and stimulate collaboration, collective learning, and the building of shared frames of reference within the organization. Expanding our understanding of the full variety of leadership is apt in order to support the continuous change in educational organizations. Based on the presentations of four studies we will engage in scholarly discussion about the construct of educational leadership.
