Fri, April 14, 2:50 to 4:20pm CDT (2:50 to 4:20pm CDT), Chicago Marriott Downtown Magnificent Mile, Floor: 7th Floor, Grand Ballroom Salon III

Abstract

Global crises in health, economy and security are reflected in education and organization of training. The role of e-learning has increased to ensure better access to education. However, implementing e-learning accompanies greater risks of interruptions and drop-outs. The learner’s self-regulated learning and goal-setting skills play an important role when learning in digital environments. Goal-setting and achieving goals are in turn influenced by several value and expectancy components. In this project, the learners set their goals, assess learning motivation, self-efficacy and learning beliefs. Based on data, a predictive model is tested to better understand the role of all these components in achieving learning success. The results enable to better support learners' self-regulatory skills, goal-setting skills and learning in digital learning environments.
