Abstract

As the number of colleges and universities continues to rise in Ghana, the degree completion rate continues to decline. The students who do complete their degree often find themselves unemployed. A major contributor to the low degree completion rate is the lack of student-centered focus in colleges and universities. While some colleges and universities have attempted to address this concern, many are still struggling to put supports in place for students. This paper will discuss the steps taken by colleges and universities, the outcomes, and opportunities to make sweeping changes to support students in Ghana.
