Assets of Undocu/DACAmented Latinx Students: How and When Do Institutions Recognize, Reward, and Exploit Them?

Abstract

In this critical qualitative study of testimonios with 15 undocu/DACAmented Latina/o students we examine how institutions utilize undocumented students’ assets. We examine, challenge, and consider at what point acknowledging and recognizing students’ assets turns into exploiting them. Recommendations for equitable and ethical recognition and collaboration with undocumented students are provided.
