This constructivist grounded theory study examines community college career and technical education (CTE) faculty members’ perceptions of disability, preparation (or lack thereof) in readying disabled people for the workforce, and propositions of CTE industry changes to better support disabled employees. Interviews with 20 CTE faculty across two community colleges unveiled the prevalence of ignorance of issues that disabled people face, inconsistencies in “weeding out” disabled students from entering certain professions, and desires to make their industries more inclusive.
