The call for Universal Pre-K has garnered much attention in the academic and public spheres. A close examination of the advocacy reveals the close connection with the consideration of justice. Using Jonathan Wolff's concept of engaged philosophy and G.A. Cohen’s insights on how to do political philosophy, this paper attempts to contribute to the widely shared discourse on Universal Pre-K by identifying the inferential gaps committed by the Universal Pre-K advocates. In addition, the paper also presents two potential objections against the advocacy. In doing so, the present paper attempts to ameliorate the imbalance of philosophers’ attention toward educational justice for young children.
