Feminist-Embodied Co/autoethnography of Two Friends in Pursuit of Truth

Abstract

Building from the key tenets of our feminist friendship, in this paper, we describe and illustrate our feminist embodied co/autoethnography, the self-study methodology we have developed together to interrogate our lived experiences as feminist teacher educators in schools, universities, and society. We believe that using feminist embodied co/autoethnography is a means of pursuing and revealing the nuanced and complex truths about navigating misogyny, sexism, and heteronormativity in our lives. We hope that illustrating our feminist embodied co/autoethnography will offer others self-study researchers multiple entry points into their own narratives of navigating injustice by evoking emotions, embodied memories, and their own stories.
