This paper analyzes the impact of curriculum aligned with Disability Studies in Education (DSE) on the attitudes of general education students teachers toward inclusive practices. Using a pretest-posttest design, the researchers compared the attitudes of teacher candidates at the beginning and end of a course focused on inclusive instruction. Students in the course demonstrated an increased positive attitude towards inclusion, specifically in their affective beliefs. Students identified various DSE topics as being impactful. Students referenced the role of their cooperating teachers in shaping their inclusive attitudes. Results of this study can inform course development, ultimately supporting future teachers as they work through tensions between the reality of schools and practices rooted in disability studies perspectives.
