Abstract

This presentation by two editors of life writing venues focuses on the complexity of reviewing and supporting the development of manuscripts in the field of life writing. We frame this editorial work as relational and dialogical, a kind of care work (Joseph, 2016), that demands both grappling with our “truths” while navigating a variety of epistemological, political, and value-based tensions in reviewing (and publishing) others’ work.
