Abstract

In this proposed presentation, we will discuss the findings of a study into the experiences of school desegregation within Kansas City, Kansas and Kansas City, Missouri that expands the boundaries of qualitative research methods through public voicing mediated by technology. Delving into the disparities in educational access and opportunity that have been paved by school desegregation efforts in Kansas City is illuminating with respect to the long-term impacts of school desegregation on students and communities. As such, the exploration of narratives of school desegregation stands as the public voicing of truthful experiences and related outcomes, with a focus on the educational consequences of school desegregation.
