Sat, April 15, 11:40am to 1:10pm CDT (11:40am to 1:10pm CDT), Fairmont Chicago Millennium Park, Floor: 2nd Level, Gold Room

Abstract

The present study reports results of a quantitative analysis of k-12 school counselors’ perceptions and preparedness of College and Career Readiness Counseling in a large urban school district serving a diverse, low-income student population. We highlight differences between k-8 and high school counselors’ perceptions related to preparedness, their pre-service and in-service training in CCR, and subsequent time allotted to these activities. Implications to inform future in-service and pre-service training are also discussed.
