Despite the increasing number of online professional development (PD) activities for teachers, we know little about the quality features of formal online PD. The present study investigates the perceived quality of online PD activities and its relationship with teachers’ satisfaction and their changes in practice. We use survey data from N = 387 teachers who participated in an online PD activity. Our results indicate high levels of cognitive activation, clarity of online PD goal-setting and session-structure, and moderate levels of collaboration in online PD. While all quality features predict teachers’ satisfaction, only cognitive activation and collaboration in online PD predict changes of teachers’ professional practices.
