Abstract

The purpose of this study is to apply George Kuh’s framework of student engagement through application of engagement benchmarks of the National Survey of Student Engagement
(NSSE) that include: Level of Academic Challenge, Active and Collaborative Learning, Student Faculty Interaction, Enriching Educational Experience and Supportive Campus Environment from senior student data to identify statistically significance differences amongst the four engagement themes of the NSSE between Black males who are Greek-affiliated versus nonaffiliated at an HBCU.
