Abstract

This modest qualitative pilot study on pedagogy aligns with Interrogating Consequential Education Research in Pursuit of Truth, as it reveals lived experiences and pedagogical practices at predominantly White institutions (PWIs) that influence academic and sociocultural identity in collegiate Black men (CBM). With attention on the significance of cultural accountability, systemic racial correction, and the resourcefulness of relationship cultivated by White faculty and administration at PWIs, this study proposes plausible research toward true transformation of higher education for CBM who attend PWIs. This study fits into existing studies of access and equity for African American Students in Higher Education, culturally responsive school leadership, racial identity development, and psychological coping
