Abstract: This study is a preliminary analysis of whether virtual video clubs support participants in learning to notice student thinking in similar ways to in-person video clubs. Three video club sessions were analyzed to (1) determine how participants’ noticing changed over the sessions and (2) examine if interactions between participants contributed to participants’ noticing development. I focus on part two of the analysis and find that moments of participants’ discussions seemed to lead to shifts in individuals’ thoughts on noticing. This result shows the potential of virtual video clubs, which could expand teacher access to video clubs and learning to notice.
