Abstract

The goal of this quantitative study was to determine if there was a significant relationship between distributed leadership practices and teachers’ organizational commitment. Data included survey results from 112 teachers in four New England school districts in the U.S. who completed a survey with items about cohesive leadership teams, support from the principal, supervision by the principal, and affective organizational commitment. The data indicated that, although the predictors of a cohesive leadership team, support, and supervision all have significant positive correlations with organizational commitment, only a cohesive leadership team was found to be a significant predictor of affective organizational commitment.
