The first part of the paper explores the postdigital challenge of understanding our reality using the four-pronged dialectic between we-think, we-learn, we-act, and we-feel. Looking at posthumanist literature, it advocates embracing a much wider spectrum of human and non-human actors and their interactions. The second part of the paper explores the notion of engagement as it relates to education, global citizenship, and democracy. Using Paulo Freire’s concept of conscientization, it illuminates the centrality of passion. The third part of the paper moves from engagement to action. The conclusion seeks new emancipatory alliances for a postdigital world; alliances that acknowledge and build upon recognition of radical techno-social transformations at the intersections between biology, information, and society.
