Thu, April 13, 8:00 to 9:30am CDT (8:00 to 9:30am CDT), Swissôtel Chicago, Floor: Lucerne Level, Alpine I

Abstract

This study includes results from the administration of the workplace wellbeing survey with school staff in a rural/frontier region of a western state. This survey was based on the PERMA model with additional questions about the influence of the COVID-19 pandemic and was completed by 777 respondents (463 teachers). Noteworthy results include lower levels of wellbeing in the domain of Relationships for Hispanic school personnel and an outsized adverse impact from the COVID-19 pandemic on social and physical wellbeing (when compared with non-Hispanic personnel). Teachers showed lower levels of Positive emotion, Engagement, and Accomplishment, when compared to non-teachers in schools. Correlation coefficients between constructs and other results are also discussed.
