Abstract

The “School-Barometer” focusing on Germany, Austria, and Switzerland, aims at conducting multiperspective, international and practice-relevant research. In educational research, it is crucial to capture different perspectives and countries to capture overall picture and to understand specific opinions. To gain a deeper insight into the challenges and solutions of the different supervisory systems, we decided for a qualitative approach in a first step. We illuminated the role of school supervision in the management and mitigation of the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic (past, contemporary, and future perspectives) as a qualitative sub-study of the before mentioned School-Barometer. In a second step, we plan to conduct a follow-up survey study to confirm or disprove our emerged theses from the qualitative analyses in 2021.
