Abstract

This paper critically scrutinises the representation (framing) of evidence-based policy making in education while making the case for Critical Feminist Policy Research Analysis (CFPRA) as a theory and method to interrogate policies in multiple ways that foreground social justice and gender justice and scaffold doctoral studies. Fraser (2009) argues that the third wave of feminism is concerned with interrogating the representation of problems as a justice issue that goes beyond concerns with recognition and redistribution. The paper draws from a select literature review to show how CFPRA acts as an affirmative critique that widens the debate and contributes new theorisation and multiple methods in relation to interrogating the role played by the framing of educational policies in reproducing systemic inequalities.
