Principal resilience is crucial to individual principals, schools, and society. This paper aimed to conceptualize principal resilience and examine the state of principal resilience. This project employed sequential mix-method approach, namely an interview study and a survey study. The interview study approached 12 school and approached 136 school principals from Hong Kong. Thematic analysis and confirmative factor analysis were employed to analyze the qualitative and quantitative data respectively. Preliminary results identified physical, emotional, psychological, social, and spiritual resilience. These principals demonstrated a good level of professional resilience and ranked their spiritual resilience as the highest one. This project is critical and timely particularly during the post-pandemic period so that the ways for enhancing disable outcomes of school principals through resilience.
