To understand how transnational digital interactions might foster global awareness and critical cosmopolitanism in early career language teachers, this study first creates and then investigates online space(s) where participants from the U.S. and China communicate with each other about their understandings of social justice and diversity, as well as the challenges of and reflections on their own teaching. The findings of the study demonstrate participants' tremendous capacity in engaging in critical conversations across cultural and ideological borders as well as how critical cosmopolitanism may look like within an online space. At the same time, this study also highlights the robust potential digital transnational communication/platforms hold for the future of teacher education.
