Explaining Primary School Teachers' Usage of Digital Learning Data: A Mixed-Method Study (Poster 5)

Thu, April 13, 2:50 to 4:20pm CDT (2:50 to 4:20pm CDT), Hyatt Regency Chicago, Floor: East Tower - Exhibit Level, Riverside West Exhibition Hall

Abstract

Increasing heterogeneity in schools challenges teachers to design their lessons to suit individual learning needs. Digital technologies such as digital learning platforms can support teachers in this task. When students practice using digital learning platforms, various data is collected. This data is made available to teachers and potentially gives them a more accurate picture of their students’ achievement. To date, however, teachers only rarely use the data. Therefore, in this mixed method study, structural equation modeling is used to analyze factors influencing the intention to use and the usage of data from digital learning platforms on the one hand, and qualitative content analysis is used to describe the nature of the usage of teachers on the other hand.
