Abstract

This self-study of teaching and teacher education practice (S-STTEP) explores our narratives as teacher educators who are interested in how we are guided by our personal practical knowledge (PPK) as teacher educators integrating technology in our classrooms. We argue that the stories we tell and listen to from our colleagues reveal our PPK. In this study, we explore what these stories reveal about teacher educator knowledge and represent our understandings of integrating technology into four main themes: 1) the Push and Pull of Tech, 2) Modeling the Tech, 3) Group Work with Tech, and 4) Using Restraint. It is important for teacher educators to understand their PPK as they move forward in developing stronger technology integration for preparing teachers.
